The Labrador Retriever is a strongly built, very active dog. Wide over the loins and strong and muscular hindquarters. He is easy to train and is good with children and other dogs. The Labrador Retriever is good natured, loyal and hardworking. He should never be aggressive. He makes a good gundog and domestic pet.

Spanky is the "old Man" of the bunch and is definitely the boss! He lets everyone who enters the yard know that.

After a long and wonderful life, Spanky has passed away. His 13 and a half years has given us many joyful memories from walks along Riverwalk to watching he and Madi bond during his daily feedings as he grew older and calmer. It was amazing to watch them affectionately interact. Spanky never realized he was 80-85 lbs. In his mind, he was a lap dog and did his best to sneak up on your lap....first one paw, then a chin, then another paw until suddenly you were drowned in black lab.

The German Shepherd Dog is a strong, agile, well muscled dog, alert and full of life. He is extremely intelligent and makes a wonderful companion, show or obedience dog. The German Shepherd is exceptionally trainable and works well as a police, guide, search, rescue dog. He is one breed that becomes truly bonded to his family and may suffer from separation anxiety when apart from his people.

Topaz
7/4/1995 - 11/14/2007

Topaz is our queen. She has the energy of an 8 year old and a fierce bark. She does not like strangers and does an excellent job of guarding us. Her protection gives us confidence regarding the safety of our property. Her watchful eye provides us reassurance.

Topaz crossed the bridge peacefully during her late afternoon nap. Her bark begging to be played with will be missed as will her enthusiastic greetings.

These little cuties work in the meadow and barn to keep critters out!!
And... they visit us at the house, too!

Tiger Lily

Buttercup

Not sure what Buttercup keeps doing. We've seen her climb (and fall) our of trees, She got her paw stuck in her collar one time, and she returned home from a "day in the woods" that must have been rough as we needed to doctor her some and she hurt to be touched too much. Lately she must not be trying any big gymnastics tricks, but she's lost three collars in a month. Glad we use the safety ones or she'd probably be getting caught somewhere not good!!

Tiger Lily

WOW! Tiger must really have nine lives!! At six months she had to have a leg amputed. Most recently, at approximately 18 months, she "disappeared" either being taken or hit and was missing for five days. We just know a truck driver passed on on the road and said, "Do you have a yellow cat? Not anymore!!" On the fifth day the dinner call went out and out of the blue there she was...a bit thinner and somewhat skittish...but HOME!! Some tuna, some chicken, and lots of love later and she's back to her purring happy self!! YEA!!

Leslie
11/2004-8/9/2007

Leslie, along with her hutchmate Spot, joined our family in April, 2005 as a birthday present to Madison from her Grandpa Draeger. We lost Spot in November of 2006.

The heat of the hottest day on record was too much for dear Leslie. Even with frozen bottles of water in her cage changed hourly she succombed. I miss her dearly.
